About this resource

PLAN · COMPARE · KEEP TRACK

Make the numbers work
before the season starts.

Build one itemized holiday plan. See what is affordable, what is already locked in, and whether your cash arrives before your bills do.

Two checks. One clearer plan.

A season can fit your total budget and still leave you short on a payment date. This tool checks both.

No account needed · Works in your browser

Your entries stay in this calculator’s browser session. It does not send them to Growth Reader or save them automatically. “Save my plan” downloads a private file you can reopen here. Use initials rather than full names.

01

Set your funding boundary

Use holiday money only, after rent, bills, food and other essentials. Do not enter your bank balance or credit limit.

02

Build the real cost of your season

Add gifts by recipient, then travel, hosting, food, decorations and overlooked extras. Include tax, delivery, tips and fees in each amount.

How to enter costs without counting them twice

Planned: not bought or agreed yet. Estimate is the expected full cost. Committed: not purchased, but agreed or booked; use the full estimate. Purchased: use the full net purchase cost and the net amount paid so far. The remainder is an unpaid balance, even on a credit card.

Use one item per cost. A deposit belongs in a purchased item’s “Paid so far”; do not add it again as a separate item. After a refund, update net cost and net paid. Purchased and committed costs are never automatically cut in scenarios.

For installments with different dates, split the outstanding cost into separately named items. Do not repeat the full purchase cost on each one. Missing payment dates use your deadline; overdue balances are treated as due on the review date.

All items count in the results, including those hidden by your category filter. Amounts support up to two decimal places.

03

Test changes before you spend

Only planned items marked “Can reduce” change. Purchased and committed costs stay fixed. Your current plan is preserved.

The alternative plan uses each flexible item’s “Cheaper alternative” amount. A zero means skip that item. Uncheck “Can reduce” to protect a priority item.
